I also worked on Siren, an AI-powered expense tracker that uses smart analytics and clear visualizations to help users manage budgets and gain meaningful insights. In response to the challenges faced by electric vehicles (EVs) during power depletion scenarios, I conceptualized and implemented the "EV Emergency Backup and Switching" project. The innovative system comprises a dual-battery setup within an EV, featuring a primary high-capacity battery and a secondary backup battery. The distinguishing factor lies in the integration of a solar-powered charging mechanism, enabling sustainable energy replenishment even during adverse conditions. The project operates intelligently, leveraging sensors to detect the energy levels of both batteries. When the primary battery reaches a predefined threshold, the system seamlessly switches to the backup battery, ensuring continuous vehicle operation. Conversely, when the backup battery is depleted, the solar panel redirects its energy to recharge the main battery. This dynamic and self-sustaining approach extends the operational range of EVs, offering a reliable solution for users, especially in emergency situations. The entire system was prototyped using Arduino, embedded C, and various sensors, demonstrating the feasibility of a robust and eco-friendly power management solution for electric vehicles.
